Dear Friends at Goldstock Fund,
I can't thank you enough for your donation to be applied towards Bandit's heartworm treatment! I thought I'd include the before and after pictures of my sweet lab. The first picture is the pic that a fellow rescuer had forwarded to me while she was at the shelter pulling a great dane. She keeps an eye out for labs for me and she forwarded the below pic. I saw him and it broke my heart - he looked like his was broken too. Bandit had pretty much given up all hope of being rescued and was ready to be gassed that afternoon. Look at this boy's ears - it can tell you so much! Anyways, I had her pull him for me and we immediately sent him to my vet's office. Upon examination, he had upper respitory and tested positive for heartworms. Once his upper respitory had cleared up, GLR put him through his heartworm treatment and he went into his new foster home.

Within 3 days of being at his foster home - an entirely different lab appeared before our eyes - look at the difference! Bandit had come back to life and what an amazing lab he is! Retrieving all day long, this lab just continues to please anyone that he can. GLR has worked with Customs with some of their other labs and knew that Bandit was definitely a good candidate for their program. When Customs came out to test Bandit - what a surprise they had! As spoken in the words of the procurement officer, he was an awesome lab! Needless to say, Bandit passed all his tests with flying colors - they even finished earlier than usual due to Bandit's spectacular skills.
Bandit left on Tuesday, August 20 for South Carolina where he will go through an extensive medical exam to insure that his body is capable of the work needed. His hips, eyes, ears and over all well-being will be tested. Once he passes (which we all know he will!) he will join the program and begin his schooling. Within 8 weeks, this remarkable boy will make one Agent very proud to have him as his partner. Please thank all of Goldstock's supporters for helping dogs like our Bandit find out there is joy to life and not all is bad.
